So I went over to the office the institute was kind enough to give me this morning (I went there this morning, they didn't give it to me this morning) and I wrote 2,102 words today. (Realized later I might not be able to write tomorrow, so I might write a little more tonight.)
Wish me luck! Egg me on! The whole idea here is that I am to put the inner editor away for the month and write, write, write - editor can come back to play next month and the rest of my life.

Good luck and go for it! let the words pour forth...
Keep it up, Marie! I'm sorry not to have written any comments before now, but I've been thinking of you and checking in with your blog to read how you're doing. Yes to putting away that inner editor and just letting the words pour out...
Love to you on this election eve,
Catherine
Dear Elena, faithful blogger friend, thank you and I shall! They are pouring . . .
Dear Catherine, it's wonderful to hear from you too. Im so glad you're reading and checking in.
Sunday (November 2nd) I did in fact manage to write, first thing in the morning before a bunch of family activities: 1,103 words.
Then yesterday (Monday, November 3rd), I was mightily distracted by looking at Obama familiy albums online, things like that, but I wrote another 2,312 words! total so far, 5517.
Yesterday's words I wasn't convinced by but NaNoWriMo's words say I leave them in for counting purposes and put them in italics; I think that's what I'll do (I think they were taking the story in the wrong direction).
It's just like running and counting points, both things you do with commitment and regularity and great style! I am very happy to see your post and I'm cheering you on.
Lots of love, Cynthia
